Apologies for relative radio silence recently.

We have been extremely busy writing and recording our fifth studio album - kindly supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the The National Lottery

Here's a very brief taster of a song called 'State of Mind' recorded at Earthmusic Northern Ireland

We hope you like it.

Many thanks to Stephanie Bell for this great coverage in today's Sunday Life and also Carlin Creative for putting it all together.

As the article says, we are currently working on our fifth studio album with at Earthmusic Northern Ireland and are delighted to have received funding from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the The National Lottery for recording and promotion.

The Arts Council’s Jo Wright said: “The Arts Council of Northern Ireland is delighted to support Silent Running through our National Lottery arts funds.

“They were one of the best bands to emerge from Northern Ireland back in the 1980s, and the magic is still there, as their fiercely loyal and growing fanbase will readily attest.

“Recording of these latest songs and the release of a fifth studio album will help to bring Silent Running’s music to a new generation of audiences at home and abroad and showcase how their talent for creating original music remains as strong as ever.”

Silent Running lead singer and songwriter Peter Gamble said

“This funding will enable us to produce a fifth album, which we are excited about and grateful for. Recording has started at Earth Music Recording Studios, and we are looking forward to producing music our fans around the world will enjoy”.
